Robby Starts Work While We Go Play!

Robby started his internship on Wednesday, January 14. While he has been gone each day, the kids and I have been exploring where we have to go near our apartment. Our apartment is in a great location with lots for the kids and I to do in the days. The weather has been beautiful and we have loved being here! Here are a few things we have been doing!

One thing we have discovered is the Civic Center Library. It is only about a fifteen or twenty minute walk from our apartment and they have an awesome kids center! It is huge with lots of different activities for the kids to do from playing with legos, blocks, cars and trucks, books, drawing, puppet plays, and everything you could imagine! Jackie and Logan loved it. We went for story time and ended up staying about an hour and a half there. Jackie was also super excited to pick out a few books to bring home with her. We have been reading them lots!

We have also loved going running. Well I have loved running again, and the kids love to ride in the stroller while I am. They just love being outside in the beautiful weather! Jackie has also loved playing at the park each day. She gets so excited to go outside and play. The longer she is outside the happier she is!

Friday night we walked around Old Town Scottsdale. We actually got there accidentally when we were showing Robby the library and the beautiful fountains and pools of water around the library. We were walking around the Civic Center and all the sudden like out of no where there were tons of people, shops, dining places, carriage rides, and we were at Old Town Scottsdale! It was fun walking around and seeing everything that was there. Jackie loved looking at the shops and wanted to go inside every store that we saw and look around. She is a true shopper at heart! There were lots of Native American jewelry stores and Southwestern style clothing, decorations, and everything you could imagine. It was so much fun!

Saturday we spent a while driving around Mesa. Robby showed me some of the places that he served while here on his mission and houses of people that he knew. We didn't actually talk to anyone as he wasn't sure if people still lived there, but I was glad to see some of the other areas here! Then we took the kids to the Mesa temple grounds and spent time looking at the beautiful grounds and area there.

We are looking forward to when the oranges become more ripe! There is an orange tree that is loaded with oranges right outside of our apartment complex. The other night as we were coming back from the park with the kids we picked one and peeled it. It was the most sour thing I have ever eaten! But hopefully they will be getting more ripe in the next while so we can have some fresh oranges!

We are loving it here and know that the Lord is blessing our little family!
