Dancing, Hair, and Bass Pro Shop

This week Jackie has decided that she loves dancing! She turns the music on and runs around them room and sings, "Dance all day, dance all day!" It's so cute. She tells us that she is dancing like Liz. She remembers watching Liz dance at ballet, and she wants to be just like her.

We went to Bass Pro Shop Friday night. It was really fun! It is like Cabela's but even bigger. There were huge fish tanks with some of the biggest and ugliest fish I have ever seen, a trout stream, and lots of things for the kids to look at. Jackie's favorite things in the store were a pink hat and the little kids fishing poles. She wants to go fishing now.

The other night when we were driving we saw the most beautiful sunset. Here are a few pictures from the sunset that we saw. It is always better in person, but these are the best I could get!

Jackie has also become very interested in doing hair. Everyday she gets a package of combs that we keep in the bathroom, the hair spray, and headbands and comes in and does our hair. She combs our hair, sprays it, and then puts a headband on. It's hilarious!  Robby helped the other night with doing my hair.

We are still loving it here and having a great time! The kids and I go running each day and play at the park for hours. The other day Jackie put her baby in her little baby stroller and ran around the living room in circles shouting, "I going running!" We are having so much fun. Robby is working at his internship each day. This week has been slow for him; he has been doing a lot of reading and researching. Robby says that if anyone needs any advice or wants to know about the new healthcare tax information, he can help! Hopefully next week he will have more to do there. Everyone is getting over their colds and getting better. Logan is getting better over his cold and finally ate food again today for the first time in two weeks! We're going great!

Robby Starts Work While We Go Play!

Robby started his internship on Wednesday, January 14. While he has been gone each day, the kids and I have been exploring where we have to go near our apartment. Our apartment is in a great location with lots for the kids and I to do in the days. The weather has been beautiful and we have loved being here! Here are a few things we have been doing!

One thing we have discovered is the Civic Center Library. It is only about a fifteen or twenty minute walk from our apartment and they have an awesome kids center! It is huge with lots of different activities for the kids to do from playing with legos, blocks, cars and trucks, books, drawing, puppet plays, and everything you could imagine! Jackie and Logan loved it. We went for story time and ended up staying about an hour and a half there. Jackie was also super excited to pick out a few books to bring home with her. We have been reading them lots!

We have also loved going running. Well I have loved running again, and the kids love to ride in the stroller while I am. They just love being outside in the beautiful weather! Jackie has also loved playing at the park each day. She gets so excited to go outside and play. The longer she is outside the happier she is!

Friday night we walked around Old Town Scottsdale. We actually got there accidentally when we were showing Robby the library and the beautiful fountains and pools of water around the library. We were walking around the Civic Center and all the sudden like out of no where there were tons of people, shops, dining places, carriage rides, and we were at Old Town Scottsdale! It was fun walking around and seeing everything that was there. Jackie loved looking at the shops and wanted to go inside every store that we saw and look around. She is a true shopper at heart! There were lots of Native American jewelry stores and Southwestern style clothing, decorations, and everything you could imagine. It was so much fun!

Saturday we spent a while driving around Mesa. Robby showed me some of the places that he served while here on his mission and houses of people that he knew. We didn't actually talk to anyone as he wasn't sure if people still lived there, but I was glad to see some of the other areas here! Then we took the kids to the Mesa temple grounds and spent time looking at the beautiful grounds and area there.

We are looking forward to when the oranges become more ripe! There is an orange tree that is loaded with oranges right outside of our apartment complex. The other night as we were coming back from the park with the kids we picked one and peeled it. It was the most sour thing I have ever eaten! But hopefully they will be getting more ripe in the next while so we can have some fresh oranges!

We are loving it here and know that the Lord is blessing our little family!

Move to Scottsdale, AZ!

We moved to Scottsdale, AZ this month! It has been so exciting and such a fun adventure for our family. Robby left on Tuesday, January 6 to make the drive down with our little car packed full of our stuff. We only brought what could fit in the back of our little station wagon and somehow Robby managed to fit in all our clothes, the kitchen table, three folding chairs, Jackie's bed, Logan's bed, the toys, and everything else we felt we needed for three months including Jackie's new little kitchen strapped to the top of the car!

My mom and I flew in with Logan and Jackie on Thursday evening. Our flight was delayed a few hours but eventually we made it there late Thursday night! Friday we spent the day organizing everything, making a spot for everything, trips to Walmart and Winco to stock the cupboards and shelves and getting all settled in.
Robby sleeping on the floor of the living room while we were unpacking.

Our little kitchen!

Jackie loved popping out of the boxes and playing in them while we unloaded them! It was so funny.

Logan always loves his toys.

Our bed for the next few months! It's actually really comfortable.

Our living room that is Jackie's play room. She loves it!

The little bathroom

We finally got everything situated after a few days of moving stuff around. We also didn't have an internet that first day or two that we were there and so we had to go to McDonald's to use the internet to look up numbers to call someone to get the internet! Jackie loved playing on the toys that they had there.

Saturday we went to the Phoenix Zoo with my mom while she was here. It was so much fun! We love the zoo. Jackie loves seeing all the animals. She gets so excited when she sees them. There was the cutest little baby orangutan! Jackie's favorite were the monkeys and the lion. When she would see the little monkeys she put her hands over her mouth and squeal, "Oh my gosh! I see the monkeys!" It was hilarious and so stinkin' cute!!

We are so excited about our time that we have here! We miss everyone. Jackie especially misses her grandmas and all the aunts and uncles that play with her! But we are so grateful for the opportunity that we have to be here.
